The Francisco Peralta Puppet Collection is a unique museum situated within the Santiago Gate in the historic city of Segovia, Spain. Established in 2014, the museum offers visitors a chance to explore a fascinating collection of puppets, all of which were donated by the renowned puppeteer Francisco Peralta.
The museum houses a collection of 38 puppets, all of which were donated by Francisco Peralta, a puppeteer who was the first of his kind to receive the Silver Medal for Merit in Fine Arts. The costumes and textile accessories for the puppets were created by Matilde del Amo, Peralta's wife.
The museum is spread over two floors of the Santiago Gate. Visitors can learn about the plot of each work and the character of each puppet through explanatory panels. The ground floor displays puppets built by students of Francisco Peralta, while the upper floor houses the larger puppets.
