The Foundation of Doubt, located in Blois, is a museum and contemporary art exhibition center. Its primary focus is on the Fluxus movement, an international network of artists, composers, and designers noted for blending different artistic media and disciplines in the 1960s. The museum is a vibrant place, filled with ideas and expressions, questioning the boundaries and limits of art.
Visitors access the Foundation of Doubt through the Cour du doute, located on the rue de la Paix side. Upon arrival, they are welcomed by the monumental Wall of Words. This public art piece, created by Ben in 1995, consists of nearly 300 writing paintings that cover the entire facade of the building. This impressive artwork sets the tone for the artistic exploration that awaits inside the museum.
The works related to the Fluxus movement, collected by Ben and Gino Di Maggio, are displayed over two floors of the museum. The first floor offers a labyrinthine journey through various rooms featuring works by artists such as Allan Kaprow, Wolf Vostell, Philipp Corner, and Ben. The second floor houses a large open space of 400m², where various historical works of the Fluxus movement are exhibited.
