Foster Botanical Garden is a 13.5-acre botanical garden located at 50 North Vineyard Boulevard, Honolulu, Hawaii. It is one of five public botanical gardens on Oahu and is situated near Chinatown at the intersection of Nu'uanu Avenue and Vineyard Boulevard. This location makes it easily accessible for tourists visiting the area.
The garden today is divided into several sections: the Upper Terrace, which is the oldest part of the garden; the Middle Terraces, home to palms, aroids, heliconias, and gingers; the Economic Garden, which houses herbs, spices, dyes, and poisons; the Prehistoric Glen, where primitive plants planted in 1965 can be found; the Lyon Orchid Garden; and the Hybrid Orchid Display. The garden also boasts a number of exceptional trees, including a Sacred Fig, a clone descendant of the Bodhi tree that Buddha sat under for inspiration. This sapling was gifted to Mary Foster by Anagarika Dharmapala in 1913.

Foster Botanical Garden has 1 rating.
Foster Botanical Garden offers visitors a peaceful escape in the heart of Honolulu. This 14-acre urban oasis showcases a diverse collection of tropical plants, including rare and endangered species. Many visitors appreciate the well-maintained grounds and the opportunity to learn about various plant species through informative signage. The garden's highlights include the orchid collection, the palm garden, and several large, ancient trees. Some reviewers mention the butterfly garden as a particular point of interest. While most find the admission price reasonable, a few consider it slightly high for the size of the garden. The garden's tranquil atmosphere is often praised, though some visitors note that it can get hot and humid, especially during midday. A common suggestion is to visit early in the morning or later in the afternoon for a more comfortable experience. Some reviewers mention that while beautiful, the garden may not offer enough variety or activities to keep children engaged for an extended period. Overall, Foster Botanical Garden is generally well-regarded as a serene spot for nature enthusiasts and those looking for a brief respite from the bustle of Honolulu.
