In the late 80s, Fazenda Cachoeira Grande was acquired by Francesco V. Caffarelli, an industrialist and art collector. He renovated the property, which had been abandoned for decades, and opened it to the public. Today, the farm hosts a variety of events, including weddings, parties, workshops, concerts, and shows. It also offers accommodation in an old house on the property. One of the highlights of the farm is its antique car museum.
The mansion at Fazenda Cachoeira Grande, built in a colonial style, features seven main halls. One of these is the old kitchen of the house, which spans 144 square meters. The mansion was originally built in a "T" shape by its founder, Barão de Vassouras. It was later renovated by Francesco Vergara Caffarelli and his wife Núbia, who hired architect Eloy de Mello, a specialist in colonial architecture, and engineer Jorge A. Joppert. They reintroduced period furniture, paintings, chandeliers, crystals, and tapestries, adding to the historical charm of the place.
