EXMA, an acronym for EXhibiting and Moving Arts and EX MAttatoio, is one of the most significant exhibition centers in Cagliari. It has been situated in the former slaughterhouse of Cagliari since 1993. This location adds a unique historical and architectural dimension to the museum, making it an interesting destination for tourists interested in both art and history.

The Nicola Valle Collection at EXMA

EXMA is not only a venue for numerous temporary exhibitions but also houses nearly 650 prints from the “Nicola Valle collection”. These works were created by Sardinian and Italian artists and were generously donated to the local municipal administration by the Valle heirs in 1997. This collection provides a unique insight into the artistic landscape of the 20th century, making it a worthwhile visit for art enthusiasts.

  • Apollo's Insights AI-Generated

ExMà, located in Cagliari, Italy, is a contemporary art center housed in a renovated 19th-century building. The museum offers a diverse range of temporary exhibitions featuring both local and international artists. Visitors appreciate the well-curated shows and the blend of historical architecture with modern art. The space is known for its thought-provoking installations and multimedia presentations. Some reviewers note that the content can be challenging or abstract at times, which might not appeal to all audiences. The museum's central location in Cagliari makes it easily accessible, and many visitors enjoy the small café on-site. While the exhibition quality is generally praised, some visitors mention that the number of exhibits can be limited, depending on the current installations. Overall, ExMà provides an interesting cultural experience for those interested in contemporary art, though it may not be as extensive as larger, more established museums.
