The Essl Museum, named after its founders, is situated in the Weidling district of the town of Klosterneuburg, near Vienna in the Tulln district of Lower Austria. This location offers visitors the opportunity to explore not only the museum but also the surrounding area, which is rich in history and culture.

The Essl Collection at the Albertina

In the spring of 2017, the Essl Collection was given as a permanent loan to the Albertina in Vienna and was finally donated to the Albertina in 2018. Today, the Essl Collection is housed in the Albertina modern in the Künstlerhaus Vienna, where it is made accessible to the public in various exhibitions. This allows visitors to still experience the Essl Collection, even though the original museum is closed.
