Rumsey Hall, also known as the Entler Hotel, is a historic building located in the heart of Shepherdstown, West Virginia. It is situated in the center of the Shepherdstown Historic District, making it a significant landmark in the area. The building has a rich history and has undergone several phases of construction since its earliest portion was built in 1786.
The Entler Hotel, which closed in 1917, was sold to the State of West Virginia in 1921 and was transformed into the first men's dormitory at Shepherd College. Today, the building, now known as Rumsey Hall, houses the Historic Shepherdstown Museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the town's rich history.
