El Capricho de Gaudí, located in Comillas, Spain, is a remarkable example of Antoni Gaudí's early architectural work. This summer villa, built in the late 19th century, showcases Gaudí's distinctive style and creativity. Visitors appreciate the building's unique design elements, including its vibrant ceramic tiles, intricate ironwork, and playful sunflower motifs. The tour provides insight into Gaudí's innovative approach to architecture and his use of natural forms and colors. Many reviewers highlight the well-preserved interiors and the informative guided tours available in multiple languages. The surrounding gardens also receive praise for their beauty and tranquility. Some visitors note that while the site is smaller compared to Gaudí's more famous works in Barcelona, it offers a more intimate and less crowded experience. A few reviewers mention that the entrance fee might be considered slightly high for the size of the property, but most find the visit worthwhile for Gaudí enthusiasts and architecture lovers. The location in the charming town of Comillas is often cited as an additional point of interest, allowing visitors to explore the area's other attractions.

This is a splendid example of Gaudi's work. He is probably more famous for the Barcelona Familia Sagrada church. Here he seems to have been given free rein to try out his architectural ideas which appear in his later works. It is beautifully quirky! It is in pristine condition and the workmanship is fabulous. You are free to wander or can get guided tours. There’s an English commentary available. You can book in advance to save queing. It gleams with colour on a sunny day.
