Alois Senefelder discovers stone printing or lithography in 1798. He thus brought the world for the first time a printing technique to reproduce images quickly, massively and inexpensively. Starting in 1837, this could finally be done in color! The further development of photolithography perfected at the end of the 19th century even led to the advent of the microchip. Visitors can discover all this through the audiovisual presentations and many objects on display including signified lithographs, labels, printed cans, book illustrations, cartography, caricatures and prints. On weekdays, lithographers are at work in the studio.
