The Dimitrios Demu Museum is a cultural institution situated in the city of Lechería, within the Anzoátegui state of Venezuela. This location makes it easily accessible for tourists visiting the region, offering them an opportunity to explore the works of the Greco-Roman Venezuelan artist Dimitrios Demu.
The Dimitrios Demu Museum was inaugurated in 1999, a project funded by businessman Nicolás Demu, the brother of Dimitrios. The museum's unique design was the work of renowned Venezuelan architect Fruto Vivas. This collaboration between the Demu brothers and Vivas resulted in a museum that not only showcases Dimitrios' art but also stands as a piece of architectural interest.
The Dimitrios Demu Museum houses a diverse collection of Dimitrios Demu's works, including sculptures, photographs, models, and smaller scale replicas of his works in the city. The collection spans his works from both Venezuela and Europe, one of the highlights being a gold-plated statue of Stalin. This wide range of exhibits offers tourists a comprehensive insight into Demu's artistic journey.
