This location offers visitors a glimpse into the past, with the house itself being a significant part of the region's history. Built in 1717, the house stands on land that has been in the continuous ownership of the Denison family since 1654, providing a unique insight into the lives of its former inhabitants.
The house that stands today was built in 1717 by George Denison and is the third Denison-built house to stand on the property. The land was initially granted to an older George Denison in 1654. This historical lineage adds a layer of depth to the property, allowing visitors to trace the lineage of the Denison family through the architecture and history of the house.
