The Cordell Hull Birthplace State Park spans 45 acres and includes a restored log cabin, which is a representation of the place where Hull was born in 1871. The park also houses a museum that displays a number of Hull's personal items, including a replica of his 1945 Nobel Peace Prize.
Bunkum Cave, one of many significant caves located on the limestone-rich Highland Rim, is situated along the headwaters of Cove Creek, just south of the Cordell Hull Birthplace. The cave's entrance measures approximately 100 feet wide and 30 feet high. A 1992 survey by the Tennessee Division of Archaeology found evidence that the cave had been occupied during the Middle Woodland period, around 1000 B.C. to 1000 A.D.
Currently, visitors wishing to explore Bunkum Cave beyond its lighted area are required to obtain a permit.
