The Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site, situated near Claybank, Saskatchewan at the base of the Dirt Hills in the RM of Elmsthorpe No. 100, functioned as a brick manufacturing plant from 1914 to 1989. This site offers a unique glimpse into the industrial history of Canada, showcasing the brick manufacturing process of the early to mid-20th century.
The Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site is open for tours seven days a week from June through August. Visitors can explore the site at their own pace with self-guided tours available all day, or join one of the special guided tours offered daily at 10:30 and 1:30. School and group tours can also be arranged upon request.
Adjacent to the Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site are the Massold Clay Canyons, a 256-acre area rich in history and wildlife. The canyons are home to historic clay pits and natural wildlife areas, offering visitors a chance to explore the natural beauty and biodiversity of the region.
