Chirau Mita Botanical Garden, located in Argentina, is a unique destination that houses over 1,200 species of cacti from around the globe. In addition to this, the garden also features various types of trees and species that thrive in dry environments, including aloe vera and agave.
Spanning over 10,000 square meters, the Chirau Mita Botanical Garden employs an ancestral cultivation system known as pircas and terraces. This system is a recreation of the old gardens and pukaras, primarily developed by the Incas, providing a unique insight into historical cultivation methods.
In addition to the botanical garden, the site also hosts an 'Archaeological Museum of Cultures'. This museum showcases objects from various cultures including Ayampitin, Aguada, Diaguita, Inca, and Belen. Exhibits include stone tweezers, funeral urns, a figure of 'The Lady of Vichigasta' symbolizing the fertility deity, and dinosaur eggs discovered in the region.
