The Children’s Museum of Manhattan, situated on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City, was established in 1973 by Bette Korman. Originally, it was known as GAME, which stands for Growth Through Art and Museum Experience.

Relocation of the Children’s Museum of Manhattan

In the 1980s, the museum was renamed as the Children’s Museum of Manhattan. It was relocated to its present address on West 83rd Street in 1989.

Future Plans of the Children’s Museum of Manhattan

In 2018, the museum unveiled plans to move to a more spacious location on 96th Street and Central Park West. The museum is expected to shift to the new building, offering 41,300 square feet for galleries and exhibitions, in 2023.
