The Château de Cahuzac is a historical monument located in Cahuzac, France. This castle, with its square plan and two floors built on an elevated ground floor, is a significant representation of 18th-century architecture. The main entrance is adorned with a courtyard and a terrace connected by two staircases on either side of the terrace. The south facade features a baluster staircase leading down to a large elevated terrace, while the west side houses a courtyard lined with outbuildings.

Historical Context of Château de Cahuzac

The Château de Cahuzac was constructed between 1755 and 1776 by Justin d'Acher, a nobleman who purchased the lands of Cahuzac along with its seigniorial rights in 1755. The castle was built on the site of an old noble farm, the remnants of which can still be seen in one of the building's bodies. This historical context adds a layer of depth to the castle's rich history.
