The Historic House Museum, formerly known as the Queensland National Bank, is a heritage-listed site located at 87 Alfred Street, Charleville, Queensland, Australia. The building was designed by Francis Drummond Greville Stanley and constructed in 1888 by A Anderson. It was officially added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992, marking its significance in the region's history.
The Historic House Museum was originally built in 1888 as the premises for the Queensland National Bank. The bank had established a branch in Charleville in 1881, marking the building's long-standing history in the town.
Following the death of Mr Smith, his daughter, Mrs Claude Young, transformed the building into a boarding house. After her passing, the Charleville and District Cultural and Historical Society purchased the building. Today, it serves as a local history museum, offering visitors a chance to delve into the region's past.
