The César Manrique Foundation is situated in the former home of the artist in Tahiche, a location in the municipality of Teguise. This is geographically in the middle of the Canary Island Lanzarote, which was the artist's home island. This central location makes it easily accessible for tourists visiting the island.
The museum within the César Manrique Foundation houses the contemporary collection of the foundation, as well as a collection of contemporary, Canary art. At the exit, visitors can admire an extensive collection of Manrique's pictorial work, known as the "Colección Manrique". This offers tourists a comprehensive view of Manrique's work and other contemporary Canary art.
The César Manrique Foundation is built on a 30,000 m² plot of land that extends over a lava flow from the volcanic eruptions of 1730 to 1736. The building was erected over five large, volcanic bubbles and consists of two floors. This unique architectural design provides a unique experience for tourists visiting the foundation.
