Since 2007, the CSAC is located at the Abbazia di Valserena, also known as “Certosa di Paradigna”, a few kilometers from Parma. This location offers a unique setting for the center's collections and exhibitions.
The CSAC is structured into five sections - Art, Photography, Media, Project, Fashion - within which about 12 million pieces are preserved. These sections offer a wide range of exhibits, from art and photography to design and fashion.
Since May 23, 2015, the CSAC has been transformed into a new multifunctional space. While it maintains its functions as an Archive and Research Center, it has added a Museum that is open to the public. This allows visitors to explore the center's vast collections and exhibitions.

Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione - CSAC has 1 rating.
The Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione (CSAC) in Parma, Italy, is a notable institution dedicated to the study and preservation of visual communication. Located in the historic Valserena Abbey, the museum offers visitors a chance to explore a vast collection of artwork, design pieces, and archival materials.
Visitors appreciate the museum's extensive collection, which includes over 12 million items spanning various fields such as art, photography, design, and fashion. The diverse range of exhibits provides an comprehensive overview of Italian visual culture from the 20th century to the present day.
The building itself, a restored 13th-century Cistercian abbey, adds to the overall experience, with many visitors commenting on the striking contrast between the historical architecture and the contemporary artworks on display. The spacious, well-lit exhibition areas allow for an enjoyable viewing experience.
However, some visitors note that the museum's remote location, about 10 km from Parma's city center, can make it challenging to access without a car. Additionally, a few reviewers mention that the information provided alongside the exhibits could be more comprehensive, especially for international visitors who may not be familiar with all the Italian artists and designers featured.
Despite these minor drawbacks, the CSAC is generally well-received for its unique concept, impressive collection, and the thoughtful integration of modern art within a historical setting. The museum appeals particularly to those interested in Italian art, design, and visual communication history.
