The Centro de Ciencias de Sinaloa was established as a space for children and young students to learn about scientific and technological advances. It provides an environment where they can explore these principles and gain a better understanding of humanity's place on Earth and in the Universe.
On February 13, 2018, the Centro de Ciencias de Sinaloa began a comprehensive modernization of its facilities. This was the first major renovation since its establishment in 1992, and it was made possible through an investment of 150 million pesos.
The new Science Museum at the Centro de Ciencias de Sinaloa is unique in that it is the only one in the world to house a replica of the Deep Space 8K, a creation of Ars Electronica of Linz, Austria. The Black Cube, a part of the museum, offers immersive experiences in science, art, technology, history, and music. It also serves as an open-source experimentation laboratory where visitors can develop their skills as content creators.
