Cedar Creek State Park is a vast expanse of natural beauty, spanning 2,588 acres along Cedar Creek in Gilmer County, West Virginia. It is conveniently located about 4 miles south of Glenville, making it easily accessible for visitors.
The park is home to two historical restorations from West Virginia's pioneer days. These include a log cabin, which now serves as the campground check-in station, and the Pine Run One Room School, an old one-room schoolhouse. The schoolhouse is complete with restored school desks and a potbellied stove, offering a glimpse into the past.
During the summer, the Pine Run One Room School, a historical restoration at the park, is open for tours on Saturdays. This offers visitors a unique opportunity to step back in time and experience a piece of West Virginia's history.
