The Casa Museo Francisco José de Caldas is a museum situated in Bogotá, Colombia. It was the residence of Francisco José de Caldas, a notable Colombian lawyer, naturalist, and geographer. The museum is dedicated to his memory and showcases his life and works.
The museum is conveniently located near the Nariño Palace, the official residence and principal workplace of the President of Colombia. The house was built around 1770 and was declared a National Monument in 1944, adding to its historical significance.
The museum houses a study room that contains letters, books, and writings of Caldas. There is also a science room where visitors can see reproductions of the Botanical Expedition, herbariums, as well as documents and correspondence of Caldas with notable figures such as José Celestino Mutis and Alexander von Humboldt.
