The Camargue Museum is situated in the town of Arles, specifically at Mas du Pont-de-Rousty. It is conveniently located 8 km away on the departmental road 570, in the direction of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. This location makes it easily accessible for tourists visiting the area.
The Camargue Museum underwent a full renovation in 2013. Its permanent exhibition, titled "The thread of water, the thread of time in Camargue", offers visitors an opportunity to explore the island of Camargue and the Rhone delta. This exhibition provides a comprehensive understanding of the region's natural and cultural history.
Beyond the museum's indoor exhibits, a 3.5 km discovery trail offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the diverse landscapes of the Camargue environments throughout the seasons. These include rice fields, pastures, marshes, reed beds, and sansouïre. Additional features along the trail include a traditional Camargue hut of sagne, a marsh observatory, and a bird ringing station, providing a comprehensive outdoor experience.
