The Brennet Textile Museum, which was inaugurated in 2001, is situated in the heart of Wehr, on the premises of the Brennet AG weaving mill. This location offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the rich history of the textile industry in the region, right where it happened.
The Brennet Textile Museum boasts an exhibition area of approximately 700 square meters. Visitors can explore a wide range of exhibits, including faithfully reconstructed workplaces, looms, sewing and weaving machines, laboratory and other equipment, models, canteen and office scenes, sample books, printing models, posters from the 1920s, textiles, and more. These exhibits provide a comprehensive picture of the South Baden textile industry.
The Brennet Textile Museum is housed in two historic buildings: the mansion of the hammer mill director, which was built around 1750, and the attached worker's house, also known as the laboratory house. These buildings not only add to the historical charm of the museum but also provide a tangible connection to the past.
