The Bonham House, also referred to as Flat Grove, is a historic home situated near Saluda in Saluda County, South Carolina. This location is steeped in history and offers a unique glimpse into the past. The house itself is a two-story, log 'dogtrot house' that sits on fieldstone pillars, providing a distinct architectural style that reflects the period in which it was built, around 1780.
The Bonham House is currently under restoration by the Saluda County Historical Society. Despite the ongoing work, the society provides tours of the house, allowing visitors to explore the historic site and learn about its past. This offers a unique opportunity to see the restoration process in action and understand the efforts being made to preserve this important piece of history.
