The Bildhauermuseum Prof. Wandschneider, located in the city of Plau am See, was established in 1994. It is dedicated to documenting the life and work of the local sculptor Wilhelm Wandschneider, who lived from 1866 to 1942. The museum provides a comprehensive insight into the artist's life and his artistic creations.
In April 2014, the exhibition was moved to the renovated and expanded Burgmuseum of the city of Plau am See. This move allowed the museum to extend its opening hours and become accessible to a wider audience. Visitors can now enjoy the museum's collection at their convenience.
The museum's collection includes more than 40 original sculptures, some of which are on permanent loan. In addition to these, the museum also houses paintings, certificates, documents, and a large number of photos and illustrations featuring motifs by Prof. Wandschneider. This diverse collection provides a comprehensive overview of the artist's work.
