The museum concentrates on the events that took place in the Betuwe region during 1944-1945, particularly the period known as "The Island" when the area was caught between Allied and German forces.

Visitors appreciate the museum's collection of authentic artifacts, including weapons, uniforms, and personal items from both Allied and German soldiers. The exhibits provide a comprehensive overview of the war's impact on the local community and the strategic importance of the region during the conflict.

Many reviewers commend the museum for its informative displays and the personal stories it shares, which help to bring the history to life. The staff, often volunteers, are noted for their knowledge and passion for the subject matter, enhancing the visitor experience with their insights.

However, some visitors mention that the museum is relatively small and can be thoroughly explored in a short time. Additionally, as the museum focuses on a specific region and time period, it may not offer a broad overview of the entire war for those seeking a more comprehensive World War II experience.

The museum's presentation is described as straightforward and authentic, which appeals to history enthusiasts but might be less engaging for casual visitors or younger audiences expecting more interactive exhibits.
