Aviodrome has 4 ratings.
The Aviodrome in Lelystad, the Netherlands, is a comprehensive aviation museum that offers visitors an engaging look into the history of flight. The museum houses an impressive collection of aircraft, ranging from vintage models to more modern planes, providing a broad overview of aviation development. Many visitors appreciate the opportunity to explore both the interiors and exteriors of various aircraft, including a KLM Boeing 747.
The museum's interactive exhibits are a highlight for many, particularly families with children. These hands-on displays allow visitors to experience aspects of flying and aircraft maintenance, adding an educational dimension to the visit. The flight simulators are often mentioned as a fun and exciting feature, giving visitors a taste of what it's like to pilot an aircraft.
While the Aviodrome receives praise for its extensive collection and interactive elements, some visitors note that certain areas of the museum could benefit from updating or renovation. A few reviewers mention that some exhibits or aircraft might appear a bit worn or dated. Additionally, while the information provided is generally good, some international visitors have noted that not all exhibits have English translations, which can limit the experience for non-Dutch speakers.
The outdoor area, which includes a replica of Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport from the 1920s, is often cited as an interesting feature. However, the enjoyment of this area can be weather-dependent.
The museum's staff generally receive positive feedback for their friendliness and knowledge, contributing to a pleasant visitor experience. The on-site restaurant is adequate, though not exceptional, according to most reviews.
Overall, the Aviodrome offers a solid and informative experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike. While it may not be cutting-edge in all aspects, it provides a comprehensive look at aviation history that most visitors find engaging and worthwhile.
