The Astor House is a historic stone hotel located at 822 12th St. in Golden, Colorado. It was built in 1867 and has been associated with prominent area pioneers. The building is a two-story structure made from hand-cut sandstone. It was originally built by Seth Lake, a pioneer hotelkeeper who came to the area in the early 1860s. The Astor House served patrons from miners to Territorial legislators, who met nearby in the Territorial Capitol.
Today, the Astor House is known as the Astor House Hotel Museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, marking its significance in the region's history. The museum depicts life in the hotel in the early 20th century, providing visitors with a glimpse into the past.
