The association maintains a cold water facility for native fish, several aviaries and enclosures, and a permanent exhibition with aquariums and terrariums. The exhibition is housed in the Rudi-Schmitz-Haus and includes tropical reptiles, amphibians, insects, and fish. There is also a so-called cold water facility with European marsh turtles and native fish, free-range enclosures for squirrels, water turtles and land turtles, and aviaries with native and exotic birds.
In 2015, the association was successful in breeding the endangered Cuban crocodiles for the first time in Germany. This significant achievement earned them the VDA Breeder's Prize. Visitors can see these crocodiles, along with alligators, various lizards, and other animals in the terrarium exhibition located on the upper floor.
The permanent exhibition is located on the association's grounds on the Fulda. The grounds cover an area of approximately 13,000 square meters. The site includes three ponds and several lakes. The aquarium department is located on the ground floor with 16 freshwater aquariums and a seawater aquarium.
