The Antiquarium of Francavilla di Sicilia is housed in a building on Via Liguria, which was previously used as a school. The museum is home to a collection of Greek artifacts that have been discovered in Francavilla di Sicilia from 1979 to the present day. These artifacts may belong to the ancient site of Kallipolis, a subject that is still under investigation by archaeologists.
The Antiquarium of Francavilla di Sicilia is divided into five rooms. The first room introduces visitors to the history of the Alcantara Valley through educational panels. The remaining four rooms are dedicated to the study of artifacts related to the Ancient Necropolis, the sanctuary of Demeter and Kore, and the ancient Greek inhabited nucleus.
The Antiquarium of Francavilla di Sicilia is open to visitors at specific times throughout the week. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, it is open from 8:30 to 13:30. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, it is open from 8:30 to 13:30 and again from 15:00 to 18:00. From June 20, 2018, the museum has also been open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 to 13:30 and from 15:00 to 18:00.
