The Skiptvet Bygdemuseum, a quaint open-air museum, is nestled in the municipality of Ål, within the Norwegian province of Viken. Established in 1944, the museum initially started with a modest collection of six buildings, offering a glimpse into the region's rich history.
The Skiptvet Bygdemuseum's collection has grown significantly over the years, now boasting 30 historical buildings. Among these is the farm of Leksvol, constructed around 1600, and a unique alpine pasture featuring a stone building. The museum also showcases typical agricultural outbuildings, including a pigsty, horse stable, and smokehouse, providing a comprehensive view of historical Norwegian rural life.
