Agatunet is an open-air museum located in Ullensvang municipality in Vestland county. It is home to 67 protected buildings, making it a significant historical site. The museum is situated north of Odda and south of Utne on the west side of Sørfjorden in inner Hardanger. It provides a unique insight into the architecture and lifestyle of the past, making it a fascinating destination for history enthusiasts.
One of the highlights of Agatunet is the Lagmannsstova, a unique timber house dating back to 1220. This building is the oldest wooden structure in the country that has been preserved in its original location. It stands on high basement walls and was built with timber from Varaldsøy. The Lagmannsstova once housed the lawman, knight, and national councilor Sigurd Brynjolfsson, one of the advisors to King Eirik Magnusson.
