The Bahnbetriebswerk Adorf, a railway depot, originated from the Adorf locomotive station. This was established after the construction of a six-stand heating house from 1877 to 1880. The depot is a testament to the town's rich railway history and offers a unique insight into the workings of a 19th-century railway facility.
The facilities of the Bahnbetriebswerk Adorf, including a twelve-stand roundhouse, are now owned by the Vogtländische Eisenbahnverein Adorf. They house some interesting vehicles, such as the 86 607, the only verifiable existing ELNA 1, and a train intended for museum processing from former two- and three-axle DR-Rekowagen. Bahnnostalgie Vogtland, a private operator of several former DR light combustion railcars of all types, is also based here. These railcars are regularly used from Adorf for historical traffic. The former Bw Adorf can be visited on regular show days, offering a unique experience for railway enthusiasts.
