The Acquario Mediterraneo della Costa d'Argento was inaugurated on June 15, 2001, and has since been a hub for marine exploration. In April 2013, a tropical tank was added to the aquarium, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience a different environment from the Mediterranean Sea.
The Acquario Mediterraneo della Costa d'Argento is spread over two floors and is organized into nine exhibition rooms. These rooms contain seventeen tanks, seven of which are panoramic, with a capacity ranging from two thousand to twenty thousand liters. In total, the aquarium holds about fifty thousand liters of seawater, providing ample space for a diverse range of marine life.
