The 39-45 Museum in Dinan is a private French military museum that was established in 2004. It is located in Léhon, a charming town near Dinan, in the Côtes-d'Armor department. The museum is dedicated to World War II and offers a deep dive into the history of this significant period.
The museum exhibits more than 20,000 pieces from the field, ranging from cigarette packs to airplane engines. Additionally, there are more than 45 mannequins dressed in their original outfits. The exhibits evoke the occupation, resistance, deportation, and the liberation of Brittany during World War II.
One of the highlights of the museum is the reconstruction of a German convoy, complete with a Goulash Kanonen, a German rolling kitchen used for troop supply. There is also a full-size bunker reconstruction, complete with authentic equipment such as a dormitory with standard furniture, an infirmary, a radio room, and a firing casemate with a complete 47 mm SKODA piece, one of the only ones remaining in Europe.
