Nowadays the Outdoor Museum is a bustling museum village, where you can really experience how people used to live around the Zuiderzee, and where you can immerse yourself in their fishermen’s lives. Once this was just a dream: a dream and a clear vision of one man: Siebe Jan Bouma. The jubilee exhibition takes you on a journey from the very beginning, from the first plans, the difficulties that were overcome, to the enthusiasm of many people and the courage and perseverance to realise this mega project.
