2018 marks the 100 year anniversary of women achieving the vote. Across the Trust, we are exploring the stories and impact of women at the special places we care for in our Women and Power programme.      Tenterden
    Smallhythe Place is a historical gem located in Small Hythe, near Tenterden in Kent. This half-timbered house, built in the late 15th or early 16th century, has been under the care of the National Trust since 1947. The house's design is believed to be from the early 16th century, possibly constructed after a fire in the village of Small Hythe in 1514. Originally known as 'Port House', it was associated with the nearby thriving shipyard before the River Rother and the sea receded.
