Exhibition 'Three Pilots - One War Exhibition' in Royal Air Force Museum, London

Our latest First World War in the Air temporary exhibition is inspired by the experiences of three pilots during the First World War.

Each pilot comes from a different country – Peter Falkenstein from Germany, Jean Chaput from France and Bernard Rice from England. All three men wrote frequent letters home. Much of what we know about the war comes from history books but personal letters can provide a unique insight into the everyday lives of those who served.

Our exhibition has been created by students from local schools and colleges in response to three letters, one from each of our featured pilots.
