Come to De Haar Castle during the fall break for a special experience: the treasure hunt ‘The barons animal madness'! While the fall colors transform the castle gardens into a beautiful fall setting, children can join their parents or grandparents in searching for the hidden animals in the castle.
Help the baron with sleuthing!
Oh no! The castle is full of animals that actually belong outside in the park. They have hidden in all sorts of ways: in the floor, on the pillars, on the ceiling, even in the lamps...! The baron would very much like to have them back in the park, to impress his guests with his own zoo. The Baron's staff has already searched everywhere, but they haven't managed to find the animals. Are you a good detective? Then come to Castle de Haar and help Baron Van Zuylen van Nijevelt to get his animal mess back outside! Maybe you'll receive a nice reward from the baron!

During the scavenger hunt "The Barons Beast Mess," children are challenged to solve tasks and track down animals depicted in a variety of ways in the castle. From horses and turtles to real fabled animals.
This challenging and educational scavenger hunt is suitable for children ages 6 and up, with some (reading) help from parents. There is also a version for younger children. This scavenger hunt is included free with castle visits and can be picked up at the museum store.
