Exhibition 'Rhonda Zwillinger' in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
Rhonda Zwillinger (66) is back. After an absence of twenty years, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen proudly presents an exhibition by ‘Arizona’s desert queen’.
The American artist made a furore in the 1980s with sculptures and installations full of beads and fake precious stones. Her conceptually strong, decorative work employed craft techniques and themes from popular culture and the visual idiom of Hollywood films. Zwillinger’s work provided a humorous commentary on social mores and male-female relations.
