Exhibition 'Interactive Postal-Themed Exhibitions' in Nuneaton Museum and Art Gallery
Mail Rail. Who doesn’t want to try their hand at being a Mail Rail Engineer? On entering this exhibition visitors will be greeted by a huge inflatable tunnel – just right for anyone wanting to go exploring down the Post Office’s Underground Railway! The original included driverless electric carriages and moved up to 4 million letters a day – not bad considering it was built in 1927! That’s not all, there are also dressing-up costumes to enjoy.
Pop it in the Post. This family-friendly exhibition looks at how, for over 160 years, people in Britain have been able to stay connected. Discover the story of the writing revolution, enabled by the world’s first ever stamp, and the UK’s first pillar boxes.
