Exhibition 'Festival of Archeology' in Discover Bucks Museum

Discover one of the Roman Sculpture Heads up close.
An archaeology event full of activities for the whole family, including the first chance to see one of the amazing Roman statue heads from the recent excavation at Stoke Mandeville church.

Please note that our Festival of Archaeology event is on the 23 July ONLY and the talks and activities are free. You will not need to buy a ticket for these, but entry is on a first-come, first-serve basis. For the talks, please come to reception on the day to book your free place subject to availability.

By agreement with HS2 Ltd, for a very limited time, one of the nationally important statue heads will have its first public display, before it has to return to the archaeologists for more research and conservation.

Find out how the Romans influenced Britain, meet some Roman characters, hear stories of the Romans and Celts, listen to Dr Rachel Wood describe the surprising and remarkable Roman statue heads discovery, try your hand at archaeology and much more!
