Exhibition 'Everyone's History: 20 years of the Portable Antiquities Scheme and the Treasure Act' in Durham University Museum of Archaeology
20 years ago a unique programme began, its aim was to record archaeological artefacts found by the general public. Today over a million objects have been recorded and many important objects and sites discovered.
This exhibition features objects that have been found by the public. It also highlights some of the objects that have been acquired through the Treasure Act, including for the first time part of a Bronze Age hoard found in County Durham.
