Exhibition 'Beyond the Naked Eye' in Kingston Museum

You come across them all the time flying, wriggling and crawling around house and garden, but what’s it like to take a look at bugs close up? View bodies, legs, eyes and wings in fascinating high definition in our summer display. Award winning imaging specialist David Spears captured these spectacular enlargements of creepy crawlies using a Scanning Electron Microscope and enhanced their natural colours with realistic tints.
The exhibition is accompanied by a selection of 3D pictures and a film, A Year on the Hogsmill River, produced by Stereoscopic Society member David Ford, featuring evocative footage of local insects and plants.
An unmissable experience for all amateur and budding scientists, artists and naturalists!
Keep an eye on our Eventbrite, Twitter and Facebook accounts for more bugs inspired events for children and families throughout the Summer!
