Al Hosn Festival

Qasr al-Hosn, the oldest stone building in Abu Dhabi, is a testament to the city's rich history. Designed by Mohammed Al Bastaki and built in 1761, the fort stands as a symbol of the city's past. It was initially constructed as a watchtower to monitor the growing maritime routes of the area and protect the only freshwater well on Abu Dhabi Island. Over the years, it was expanded and transformed into a small fort and later the permanent residence of the Sheikh.
